David Raines Community Health Centers is looking for passionate, qualified applicants to join our team!

The Dental Hygienist works under the supervision of the Clinic Dentist and provides direct dental care to all DRCHC patients, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment with referral to specialists. The role also involves administering oral hygiene care, advising patients on oral health maintenance and disease prevention, and rotating to assist at various clinic locations.

• Performs assessments, dental hygiene diagnosis (with prognosis), planning, implements treatment, and evaluations.
• Performs extra-oral and intra-oral examinations, including oral cancer screening, hard and soft tissue charting, and periodontal screening and probing.
• Reviews medical and dental history, including vital signs, drug evaluation, and lab reports.
• Takes and processes diagnostic radiographs.
• Removes plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth surfaces.
• Removes sutures and rubber dams.
• Places and removes antimicrobial agents through oral irrigations.
• Provides verbal oral hygiene instructions to patients.
• Assesses fees for patient services accurately and timely.
• Must be available to rotate to other DRCHC sites as needed.

• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene school.
• Licensed to practice dental hygiene in Louisiana.
• One year of dental practice experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records, preferably Next Gen or similar EHR.
