Operations/Maintenance Supervisor – Shreveport, LA

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own or operate approximately 79,000 miles of pipelines and 139 terminals, transporting natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, and more. The Operations Supervisor position is based at Kinder Morgan’s Kinder Hawk facilities, 9580 Saint Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71106.

Primary Purpose

The successful candidate will maintain the safe and efficient operation of all field aspects with emphasis on Gas Treating, Dehydration, and rotating equipment systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee subordinates and verify improvement in preventative maintenance program, employee development, efficient operations, and equipment reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership to the maintenance group.
  • Prepare reliability plans for critical equipment.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance activities are performed as scheduled.
  • Ensure unscheduled work orders are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Support operations to minimize downtime.
  • Fulfill roles related to compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Promote safer, more efficient, cost‑effective operation and align operating costs with budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with outside groups such as process engineering, project engineering, and the Operations Excellence team on safety, optimization, and expansion initiatives.
  • Represent the maintenance group in meetings, pre‑planning on projects, design review, and PSSR.
  • Prepare the operating budget annually, monitor performance, and report to the Operations Manager.
Education and

Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience and Specific Knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • Strong communication, computer, and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Teamwork orientation, ability to follow directions, maintain schedules, focus on detail, and adhere to Company Procedure.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record to be insurable by company insurance.
  • Subject to license or certification requirements or training stipulated by local, state, or federal agencies or the company.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
  • Plan, organize, document, prioritize, and complete work efficiently.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage crews at multiple locations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Basic math and computer skills (MS Office, operating systems).
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements.
  • Demonstrate operational excellence performance and leadership.
  • Good attention to detail.
Physical Demands
  • Physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements.
  • Frequent climbing in/out of trenches, elevated platforms, ladders, walkways.
  • Lift minimum 20 pounds in awkward positions and 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells, carry up to 50 pounds, and see, hear, walk, and talk effectively.
Working Conditions
  • Tasks performed indoors and outdoors in all weather during daylight and darkness.
  • May stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Field vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which can be flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
  • Maintain a good driving record within company insurability requirements.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical motors, VFD controls, instrumentation, controls and gas analyzers, Amine and Dehydration Treating Plants, Diesel Powered generators, Gas Fired Heaters, PD/centrifugal/other pump types, absorption vessels and exchangers, emissions integrity and testing, MAXIMO integrity management software usage.
Preferred Education
  • Preference for candidates with college degrees, especially a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or similar programs.
