JOB SUMMARY

We’re seeking a hands‑on manufacturing engineer who thrives on the production floor. This person identifies process bottlenecks and implements measurable, practical solutions. This is not a leadership or administrative position. The ideal candidate is an operator‑type engineer who can diagnose inefficiencies, design fixes, and execute improvements with minimal red tape. This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze production bottlenecks and implement process improvements that reduce cycle time, rework, and labor intensity.
  • Collaborate with design and operations teams to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Develop and deploy tooling, jigs, fixtures, and visual work aids to support operators and technicians.
  • Integrate automation, robotics, and smart tooling into production workflows where beneficial.
  • Write clear, operator‑focused work instructions and visual build documentation.
  • Execute Lean and Six Sigma–style improvement activities aimed at throughput, quality, and ergonomics.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to drive measurable performance gains.
  • Support digital tool integration (ERP/MES, PLC data, CAD systems) to enable smarter manufacturing.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards while improving efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proven track record of identifying and resolving production bottlenecks.
  • Practical experience in tooling/fixture design and process troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with automation systems, robotics, and control interfaces is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (Solid Works, Inventor, or AutoCAD) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work directly with operators and cross‑functional teams to execute improvements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in an active manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and temperature variation. The role requires regular presence on the shop floor and collaboration with operators, welders, and assemblers.
