Summary

The VPC Inspector position's primary responsibility is to conduct thorough and accurate pre‑delivery and/or final vehicle inspection to ensure vehicle quality standards are maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle inspection
    • Inspect the exterior of new vehicles for any defects and damages
    • Inspect assigned interior features of new vehicles for defects and damages
    • Properly identify all quality defects and damages on units coming down their line
  • Document & report all defects
    • Properly identify all defects and damages
    • Document all quality/damage issues, to track the number of issues and whether they are increasing or decreasing
    • Report any increase of the same defects to the Supervisor
    • Report any recurring issues to the Supervisor, so HMMA can be made aware and corrective action can be made
  • All other duties as assigned under Inspector including, but not limited to:
    • FIL Inspector
    • Line‑Off Inspector
    • Money‑Gate Inspector
    • PDI Inspector
    • Quality Control Inspector
    • Vehicle Processor
    • VPC Technician
    • VPC Inspector
    • HADS Inspector
    • PIO Throw‑In
    • RO Write‑Up
    • Other duties as assigned
Skills
  • Must be willing and able to cross‑train in other departmental needs Required
  • Requires flexibility with schedule including break times as well as working extended hours, weekends, and holidays Required
  • Ability to read and write Required
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Required
  • Ability to drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles Required
  • Ability to record and verify numbers 17 characters in length Required
  • Must have demonstrated mechanical abilities Required
  • Must have a general knowledge of automobile components Required
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D Required
  • Must hold a valid state‑issued driver's license without restrictions Required
  • 1 year of experience required OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Required
  • Experienced in mechanical, installation experience in a port‑processing environment Preferred
