Donor Relations Manager

Overall Purpose of This Role

The Donor Relations Manager will provide administrative and strategic support to the Vice President of Resource Development, working closely with the Director of Marketing & Events and the Director of Community Impact to coordinate fundraising and donor engagement initiatives and events. This role is responsible is also for donor database management, campaign support, event coordination, and stewardship efforts to enhance fundraising effectiveness and donor relations.

Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, event coordination, or nonprofit administration.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and donor database management (CRM experience preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, donors, and community partners.
  • Commitment to United Way's mission and values.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Donor Database & Administrative Support
  • Maintain and update donor and prospect records in CRM system to ensure accuracy and proper donor stewardship.
  • Assist the Vice President of Resource Development to track fundraising campaigns, donor engagement activities, and pledges to monitor progress toward revenue goals.
  • Generate reports on donor activity, campaign performance, and revenue projections.
  • Process donations, prepare gift acknowledgments, and ensure timely follow-up with donors.
Campaign & Fundraising Support
  • Manage annual workplace campaigns, including preparing solicitation materials, coordinating mailings, and tracking donor responses.
  • Develop donor communication plans, including direct mail, email campaigns, and donor newsletters.
  • Assist in planning and executing United Way's fundraising initiatives and special appeals.
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing & Events to support the planning and execution of key fundraising and community engagement events.
  • Assist with event logistics, including registration, attendee communication, and vendor coordination.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
  • Support stewardship activities to enhance donor engagement and retention, including thank-you letters, recognition efforts, and impact reporting.
  • Coordinate donor appreciation activities and engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor media and local news for donor and corporate partner updates and integrate relevant information into donor engagement strategies.

driving for various assignments; assisting in projects; general maintenance of program facilities, including creating displays, hanging signage and light cleaning; managing volunteer projects, including set‑up and clean‑up; and a variety of other physical tasks. These activities involve the ability to twist, pull, push, lift (up to 50 lbs.), bend, squat, climb, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods; use of dolly and/or pallet jack (with proper training);

manual dexterity for operating small tools & equipment; and visual acuity for driving and computer use.
