Job DescriptionSCOPE: Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Mixing Technician will prepare, compound and dispense medical prescriptions. May be expected to perform some clerical duties related to the department. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Maintains compounding area according to USP standards and LSBME regulations.
Functions
- Preparing prescription orders accurately and efficiently, verifying prescription information and dosage
- Providing quality customer service to patients and other healthcare providers
- Maintaining inventory & maintains a safe and clean dispensary
- Maintaining records by recording and filing physician’s orders and prescriptions
- Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing goals, seeking opportunities for development, and promoting a positive environment
Qualifications
- Graduate of a National Board-Certified Technician Certification program.
- Active Pharmacy Technician license through the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.
- Clinic Pharmacy Experience Highly Preferred.
- Sterile Compounding experience highly preferred.
