BRF's Center for Molecular Imaging and Therapy (CMIT) in Shreveport, Louisiana, brings basic, preclinical and clinical research, imaging and clinical operations, a cyclotron, and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution together under one roof. CMIT is part of BRF, a private nonprofit, and works with partners in research, manufacturing and clinical care to move new radiopharmaceuticals from discovery toward patients.
The roleWe're hiring a Biology Technician to run tissue culture and biodistribution work supporting CMIT's research projects. You'll report to a CMIT Biologist and handle both cell-based assays and in vivo studies.
What you'll do- Run cell culture experiments, including cell line maintenance, primary cell culture and related assays (ELISA, PCR, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, Western blot)
- Perform efficacy, PK/PD, mechanism-of-action, dose-response, toxicology and biodistribution studies
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment, and log its performance
- B.S. in biomedical science, biology, chemistry or a related life science
- At least 2 years of specialized lab experience with tissue culture and biodistribution procedures
- Experience handling small laboratory animals, including compound administration, injections, surgical procedures, fluid collection, necropsy and tissue harvesting
- Strong problem solving, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong background in immunology or cell biology
