Academic, Postdoctoral Research Fellow
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at LSU Health Shreveport invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, with particular emphasis on recruiting an exceptional early-career investigator. We seek candidates with a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree, rigorous postdoctoral training, and a strong record of scientific achievement who will establish an innovative, collaborative, and externally funded research program.
Applicants across all areas of basic and translational cancer research are encouraged to apply, particularly those whose work complements or expands departmental strengths in cancer biology, metabolism, cell signaling, gene regulation, genetics, mitochondrial biology, inflammation, and neuroscience. Evidence of current or emerging NIH R01-, K99/R00-, or comparable funding is highly desirable. The successful candidate will also contribute to the department’s mission of training graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduate researchers.
LSU Health Shreveport offers a highly collaborative academic medical center environment with strong infrastructure and institutional support for research development and faculty success. Faculty can engage with major center-level programs, including the NIH-funded CoBRE Center for Redox Biology and Cardiovascular Disease and the NSF EPSCoR CREST Center for Post-Transcriptional Regulation, and access shared capabilities in molecular signaling, analytical redox biology, genotyping, animal phenotyping, metabolomics, and iPSC-based disease models.
Additional opportunities for pilot funding, shared resources, and clinical collaboration are available through the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center and the Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and Sciences.
