This position is located in the Shreveport office of Disability Determinations Services.
This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months.
Individuals selected for positions with theDisability Determination Service (DDS)will go through a complete federal background investigation.A suitability determination by the Social Security Administration is necessary to determine whether an employee can be issued credentials in order to have access to Social Security disability data, records, and systems. Your conditional job offer and access to Social Security Administration's (SSA's) systems, data, information, and/or premises are contingent upon you passing the SSA suitability process.
* Note:
This covers the preliminary screening (pre-screen) and the final background adjudication stage of the suitability process.
No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.

As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Disability Determinations Examiner 1, 2, or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The maximum salary for the Disability Determinations Examiner 3 is $2832.00 biweekly. The following is a Special Entrance Rate (SER) for the Disability Determinations Services Examiner job title located in the Disability Determinations Services, within the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS):
Disability Determinations Examiner 1: $1,404.80 biweekly
Disability Determinations Examiner 2: $1,590.40 biweekly
Disability Determinations Examiner 3: $1,701.60 biweekly
NOTE REGARDING THE ADVERTISED PAY:
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a Disability Determinations Examiner 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
