Position: Procurement/Supply Chain - Buyer (Mid Level)

Timing: 1st Shift ( Mon to Fri)

Duration: 0-6 Months (Possible Extensions)

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement activities within a growing custom engineering and production environment. This role will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to source materials and equipment for new and ongoing projects. The ideal candidate is a mid-level buyer who can step in quickly, manage purchasing processes independently, and deliver strong internal customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute Purchase Orders (POs) and Purchase Requisition s (PRs) (30%)
  • Create new Material Master numbers and maintain project component lists in SAP (20%)
  • Reconcile receiving, quality, and invoice discrepancies (15%)
  • Negotiate supplier pricing based on purchasing variables such as volume, frequency, and capacity (10%)
  • Support additional purchasing and procurement activities as required (10%)
  • Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships (5%)
  • Negotiate preferred supplier payment terms (5%)
  • Identify opportunities for e-bidding materials to support cost-reduction and value improvement goals (5%)
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required
  • SAP experience required
    ;
    Oracle experience preferred
  • 3–5 years of related supply chain and purchasing experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in production planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage priorities

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Professional and effective interaction with suppliers

  • Ability to support production and project-based operations
