Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is offering a B7- B8a Development post working in our Liaison Mental Health Team as part of the redevelopment of psychology in the Urgent Care Pathway.
Job OverviewThe successful applicant will work alongside a psychologically minded team of nurses, medics and allied health professionals across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and be based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital. The post will entail working directly and indirectly with service users presenting in the acute hospital with primary or concurrent mental health difficulties. You will carry out and supervise assessment, formulation and brief intervention work with individuals and or their systems.
MainDuties
- Provide a specialist clinical psychology service within the Urgent Care service to adults, families and carers.
- Conduct psychological interviews, risk assessment and management, and provide expert formulation and psychological interventions to service users with a range of mental health problems.
- Formulate and implement plans for formal psychological intervention and/or management of a client’s psychological difficulties across all care settings.
- Maintain close links with other psychology colleagues within the urgent care pathway and clinical health specialties.
- Deliver training, reflective practice, staff well‑being, team formulation and staff supervision.

Person SpecificationEssential criteria
- Relevant experience in a clinical setting
- HCPC registered practitioner psychologist
Desirable criteria
- Post registration training
- Relevant experience in an NHS setting

- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by HCPC/BPS and ACP
Desirable criteria
- Post‑doctoral training in specialised areas of psychological practice
