Salary Range: $26.01 - $36.41 Depending on Experience
Bargaining Unit: Non-Union
The Town of Shrewsbury Department of Public Works is seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to join our Winter Operations team as Part-Time Winter Seasonal Laborers for the 2025–2026 season! These part-time employees (not contractors) will operate Town-owned equipment to plow and salt roads during snow and ice events, playing a critical role in maintaining safe travel for our residents, businesses, and emergency responders.
Key Responsibilities- Serve the Shrewsbury community in a vital public safety function
- Gain hands‑on experience operating municipal winter equipment
- Flexible, on‑call hours during winter weather events
- Work alongside a skilled and supportive DPW team
- No personal equipment required; all equipment is provided by the Town
- Operate Town vehicles & small plow equipment to clear snow
- Apply salt and assist with winter roadway treatment
- Respond during active snow, ice, and freeze events
- Follow safety procedures and direction from DPW leadership
- Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License (Required)
- CDL Class B License (Preferred)
- Ability to report to work during storms, including nights/weekends/holidays
- Capacity to work outdoors in severe winter conditions
- A commitment to teamwork, reliability, and public safety
