Research Technician I

Location: Shrewsbury, MA
Employment type: Full-time (Tue–Sat, 40 h/week)
Pay range: $24.50 per hour (salaries vary based on experience, education, certifications, and location)
Job SummaryThe Research Technician I will collect and record data with minimal supervision in the performance of studies. Responsibilities include handling and restraining animals, conducting clinical observations, sample collection, monitoring food consumption, animal husbandry, performing accurate data collection and reporting, and administering test substances via basic methods.
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in animal or life science or related discipline preferred. - Experience:
6 months to 1 year in animal research and/or husbandry, or fulfilling technical and experience requirements for the previous level. - Certification/Licensure: ALAT preferred.
- Skills:
Ability to handle common laboratory species, basic technical proficiency, data collection equipment operation, knowledge of GLPs and regulatory guidelines for laboratory animal care, and basic understanding of study design and protocols. - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
