Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a proactive Procurement Officer with experience in end‑to‑end procurement and a strong understanding of UK procurement legislation to support compliant, effective, and value‑for‑money purchasing across the organisation.
Grade 9 - £39,152 per annum
37 hours per week
What Will You Be Doing?Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will oversee the organisation’s procurement and contract management functions, ensuring all purchasing activity is transparent, compliant, and cost‑effective. You will develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures, provide expert advice to stakeholders, oversee tendering and contract negotiations, implement robust contract‑management frameworks, monitor procurement activity, analyse markets, maintain accurate records, support audits, and build strong relationships with suppliers and partners to deliver value for money and support organisational goals.
WhatAre We Looking For?
Candidates should hold or be working towards a professional procurement qualification, such as CIPS Level 4 or equivalent, have proven experience working in a regulated procurement environment, and have experience advising stakeholders on procurement strategy and compliance.
