Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of projects through our newly established Portfolio Management Office (PMO). This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how change is delivered across the organisation, supporting our vision of Making Shropshire Safer and the priorities set out in our Community Risk Management Plan.
What Will You Be Doing?Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will lead a range of projects that support service improvement, transformation, and organisational priorities. Working with project sponsors and stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered effectively from initiation through to completion.
You will also help develop the Service's PMO by embedding consistent project management practices, governance, and reporting processes, while using project portfolio management systems to improve project information and support informed decision-making.
What Are We Looking For?We are looking for candidates with proven project management experience within a complex organisation. You will have strong planning, organisational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver successful outcomes.
Applicants should hold a recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or APM, and have experience using project management systems and reporting tools. Experience of supporting organisational change or service improvement projects would be advantageous.
