Senior Support Worker - (Children’s Residential Child Sexual Exploitation Service)

Location:

Shrewsbury, Shropshire, United Kingdom

Contract:

Full Time, Permanent

Working hours per week: 40

Salary: £30,160 + £3,000 sleep‑in bonus (annual average) rising to £31,140 after 18 months. Pay rate £14.50 per hour.

Job Summary

At Cambian we are making constant, reliable, and high‑quality support for children and their families. This role requires you to be a committed, responsible, and person‑centred Support Worker in a specialised residential setting dedicated to preventing and treating child sexual exploitation.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver person‑centred support to children and young people in a residential child sexual exploitation service.
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children, complying with DBS and reference check requirements.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enable each child to reach their personal best.
  • Support the training, supervision, and development of junior staff and contribute to career progression programmes.
  • Implement best‑in‑class induction, ongoing training, and learning & development plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience working as a Support Worker in a child care, residential or safeguarding setting.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability and a person‑centred approach.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide at least two recent references covering the last two years.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and commitment to continuous improvement.
