Overview
PSR Solutions are recruiting for an established Civil Engineering client to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team on a permanent basis. This role is project and site based, with an office in Telford and projects across the Midlands region.
Responsibilities- Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at all levels
- Ensure accurate cash flow reporting is implemented and reported
- Carry out detailed cost management including forecasting and communicating the results as required
- Update the Cost Value Reconciliation and commercial plans throughout the project lifecycle
- Support internal commercial processes ensuring adherence across the project
- Actively seek to improve processes and procedures through innovation and challenge
- Develop a deep understanding of the processes and procedures used by any JV/Alliance we work with, supporting and assisting in their development and improvement
- Develop successful external relationships by ensuring that contracts entered into have terms and conditions appropriate for the business with commercial risks identified
- Ensure the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
- Build and maintain excellent internal and external client relationships
- Take responsibility for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting
- Prepare applications for payment, liaising with contacts and/or client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Familiarity and qualification in using industry-standard contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT) and understanding of construction law
- Experience in quantity surveying within the MEICA water and wastewater treatment industry or similar
- Previous experience of commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations
- Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis and knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis
- In-depth knowledge of cost management, tendering, and procurement processes
- Experience working for Tier 1 Civil Engineering projects (desirable)
- Valid driving licence
- Salary - £60,000 - £70,000 DOE
- Based in Telford
