The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to projects from concept and design development through to technical delivery, working alongside experienced Architects, Technologists and other built environment professionals.
This role would suit an ARB-registered Architect who combines strong design ability with sound technical knowledge and is looking to develop their career within a progressive architectural practice.
About You
You will be a talented and motivated Architect with a passion for design and the built environment. You will have a creative approach to problem solving, strong visualisation skills and the ability to communicate design ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You should be comfortable working across different stages of the RIBA Plan of Work, with a good understanding of both design development and technical delivery.
We are looking for someone who:
Is an ARB-registered Architect
Has strong architectural design and technical skills
Has a good understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work
Has experience using Autodesk Revit and BIM
Has excellent attention to detail
Can communicate confidently through drawings, 3D models, written information and presentations
Is organised and able to manage their own workload effectively
Can work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Has a proactive and solutions-focused approach to project delivery
Is able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high standard of work
Experience with Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign would also be advantageous.
The Role
As an Architect, you will play an important role in the design and delivery of a variety of projects, working closely with colleagues, clients, contractors and other consultants.
You will be responsible for developing architectural designs that respond to client requirements, project budgets, programme constraints and relevant statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing architectural designs in line with project briefs and the RIBA Plan of Work
Producing high-quality drawings, models, presentations and technical information
Contributing to the development and coordination of design proposals
Working collaboratively with Architects, Architectural Technologists, consultants and other project team members
Developing sustainable and commercially viable design solutions
Selecting appropriate materials and considering durability, sustainability and whole-life performance
Producing and contributing to project specifications and technical information
Assisting with cost-conscious design development and value engineering
Participating in design reviews, coordination meetings and project workshops
Checking your own work to ensure information is accurate, coordinated and compliant
Assisting with planning applications, Building Regulations submissions and other statutory requirements
Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and statutory authorities
Attending project meetings and contributing to the resolution of design and technical issues
Supporting the project team during construction and helping to resolve design-related queries
Maintaining a high standard of document control and project information management
Contributing to the continued development of the wider architectural team
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
ARB registration
A relevant RIBA Part 3 qualification
Professional experience working as an Architect in the UK
Strong knowledge of architectural design and technical delivery
Good knowledge of Autodesk Revit and BIM
Experience working across multiple stages of the RIBA Plan of Work
Excellent graphic and visual communication skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Good knowledge of UK construction legislation, Building Regulations and relevant British Standards
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail
The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team
A proactive approach to problem solving and project delivery
Experience working on commercial, residential, education, healthcare or other complex building projects would be advantageous.
