About the RoleWe are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 3 student with Autism, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role offers a daily rate of £95 to £110, depending on experience, and is available on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. You will work closely with an individual student, helping them progress academically, personally, and emotionally, and you will also have the opportunity to experience trial days before committing fully.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one‑to‑one support to a Key Stage 3 student with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
- Assist in delivering differentiated lessons, ensuring the student is engaged and can access the curriculum.
- Support the student’s social and emotional development, helping them build resilience and confidence.
- Implement individual learning plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to the student’s needs.
- Provide feedback to teachers and other professionals about the student’s progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment to help the student succeed.
- Support the student with personal care or other specific needs, as required.
- Work collaboratively with other teaching assistants, teachers, and external agencies to ensure the student’s needs are met.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and contribute to a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly Autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
- A calm, patient, and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
- Experience in implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting students’ emotional and social development.
- An understanding of the challenges faced by children with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH and a commitment to helping them overcome these challenges.
- A willingness to engage in professional development and training.
