Job Description & How to Apply Below

Shrewsbury College is seeking to recruit a Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Engineering Teacher/Lecturer with the ability to deliver across a full range of courses from Level 1 to Level 5. The successful candidate may currently be working within an engineering environment and looking to take their first step into teaching. They will demonstrate a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding emerging technologies into the learning environment, alongside a strong drive for achieving excellence.

As part of the expanding Engineering Team, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery and development of a wide range of engineering courses. Ideally, they will have experience within the Food and Drink sector (although this is not essential) and will possess excellent knowledge and understanding of manual processes, mechanical systems and assemblies, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics, and industrial control systems, including PLCs.

They must be able to plan, deliver, and assess learning using a variety of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.

Due to continued growth in student and apprentice numbers, together with significant ongoing investment in state-of-the-art Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing facilities, the College is expanding its teaching team. This growth will enable the College to meet regional skills needs and support a new market area focused on the Food and Drink industry.

Shrewsbury College is looking to appoint passionate, skilled, and motivated Maintenance Engineering Teachers who can inspire and develop the next generation of engineers and contribute to an outstanding team.

Applications are welcomed from individuals currently working within the engineering sector who are seeking to transition into teaching. Full teacher training will be fully funded by the College, and comprehensive mentoring and support will be provided.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 27 January.
