Shrewsbury School seeks to appoint a full-time teacher of Physics to teach across the school in this successful, supportive, and collaborative Faculty.
This role would be ideal for someone new to the profession (with or without formal qualifications) looking to gain initial experience, key skills and knowledge in one of the country’s leading boarding schools, or for an experienced teacher looking for their next challenge. Those new to the profession or in the early years of their career will benefit from extensive foundational training, and all teachers have access to personalised career development programmes.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the co-curricular and pastoral life of a thriving boarding school.
Physics is a very popular subject at Shrewsbury School. It enjoys a strong reputation, with excellent Public Examination results, and a number of leavers each year going on to pursue courses, at the world’s best universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, in degree courses such as Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, Natural Sciences, Medicine, Chemistry, and Biological Sciences.
A full induction programme is provided for all new members of staff, in addition to a programme of continuous professional development. The salary for the post is competitive, and accommodation may be available. All new members of staff are issued with a touch screen laptop device to assist their teaching.
