About Aspire People

Aspire People are working to support a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in Shrewsbury. This supportive site caters to pupils with a wide spectrum of learning needs — ranging from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Role

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join the team as Unqualified Teaching Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a classroom setting and begin your career in the education sector, particularly within special educational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs
  • Encouraging pupil engagement through interactive and inclusive learning methods
  • Helping with personal care tasks (where necessary and appropriate)
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
  • Creating a safe, supportive and positive learning environment
What we're looking for
  • Passionate about helping children and young people to achieve their potential
  • Patient, adaptable, and able to stay calm under pressure
  • Empathetic and understanding of the unique challenges faced by pupils with SEND
  • Confident when working with children with a range of learning difficulties, physical needs, or behavioural challenges
  • Willing to learn and take on feedback
  • Experience in care, youth work, volunteering, or similar roles is a bonus - but not essential.
