Do you want a full academic year in a primary school where you help under‑achieving pupils and SEN pupils catch up through focused intervention support?

• September 2026 until July 2027
• £90 - £105 per day

• Provide intervention support to under‑achievers and SEN requirements

You will work across the school day delivering targeted support to pupils who are behind and pupils with additional needs. You will run 1:1 and small group intervention sessions linked to class learning, so pupils practise the same objectives with more repetition, clearer steps, and faster feedback. High‑impact intervention works best when it is structured, time‑limited, and connected to what happens in class, so your sessions will follow a consistent routine and feed back into the teacher’s plan.

You will support early reading, writing, and maths depending on pupil need. You will model the skill, guide practice, then move pupils to an independent attempt with quick checks so you spot misunderstandings early. You will also support pupils with SEN in class, using practical strategies such as chunking instructions, visual prompts, calm check‑ins, and predictable routines so they access learning with fewer barriers.

Your notes will stay brief and factual, then you will share what worked with the teacher and SENCO so support is reviewed and adjusted through the assess, plan, do, review cycle.

You are a graduate who brings calm consistency, clear communication, and strong boundaries. You want school experience where your support is purposeful and your impact is visible across the year.

• Degree at 2:2 or above in any subject
• Confident supporting pupils who are under‑achieving in reading, writing, and maths
• Comfortable delivering 1:1 and small group interventions with clear aims and tidy routines
• Experience with children through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, camps, care, or volunteering is desirable
• Professional approach to safeguarding, confidentiality, and behaviour expectations
• Enhanced DBS required, plus right to work checks, references, and standard school vetting in line with school safeguarding guidance

You will join a primary school in central Telford where targeted support is planned into the week, not added on when someone has time. Staff use consistent routines across classes, with intervention slots, clear focus pupils, and regular review points so you always know the priority and the next step. You will work alongside teachers and SEN staff who share strategies and expectations, so pupils get consistent messages and make steadier progress.

Telford & Wrekin has a broad network of local primary schools, and this role is based centrally for straightforward day‑to‑day access.
