About the Role

We are looking to appoint a passionate and motivated English Teacher to join our successful secondary school in Shrewsbury. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.

You will join a supportive and collaborative English department committed to achieving excellent outcomes and fostering a love of literature and language.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum

* Teach a range of texts, writing styles and language skills

* Assess, monitor and support student progress

* Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment

* Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities (e.g. reading clubs, theatre trips)

* Support whole-school literacy initiatives

About You

The ideal candidate will:

* Hold Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent

* Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

* Be enthusiastic about inspiring young people to achieve their potential

* Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills

* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

* Work well as part of a team
