Are you a passionate and motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to begin your teaching journey within Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? As an ECT SEND Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering personalised and engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of your pupils. The school provides specialist education for students aged 5–16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). While the majority of learners have moderate learning difficulties, the school also supports pupils with autism, speech, language and communication needs, and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
The school is committed to providing a highly individualised learning experience through small class sizes, dedicated teaching assistant support, and a structured approach to behaviour management using Team Teach principles. This creates a positive and inclusive environment where both students and staff can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will- Have a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies, particularly for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Be committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and high aspirations for all learners.
- Demonstrate a reflective approach to teaching and a willingness to embrace professional development opportunities.
- Be a positive, resilient, and collaborative team player with high expectations for pupil achievement.
- Show enthusiasm for innovative and inclusive teaching practices that support a wide range of learning needs.
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE qualification.
- Experience working with, or a genuine passion for supporting, pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Positive teaching placement feedback demonstrating readiness to begin your ECT induction.
