Level Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is supporting a number of well-regarded primary schools in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in recruiting confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) for flexible, supply-based work.

If you’re passionate about supporting children’s learning and confident delivering lessons, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact across a variety of school settings.

• Cover whole-class lessons in the absence of a teacher using pre-prepared plans

• Deliver small group interventions and targeted catch-up sessions

• Support class teachers with daily learning activities and pupil progress

• Help maintain positive behaviour and engagement across the classroom

• Assist with feedback and support other teaching assistants where required

• A recognised HLTA qualification

• Prior classroom experience, ideally leading groups or covering classes

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

• A flexible, proactive attitude with a willingness to adapt

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Start date: ASAP

• Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

• Contract: Flexible, supply basis

• Pay: £90 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)

• Choose your working days — term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
