Music Teacher

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Shrewsbury that is seeking to appoint a Music Teacher. Serving a diverse local community, the school has been focused on driving consistent improvements in behaviour, learning routines, and overall academic outcomes, creating a positive environment where both students and staff can thrive.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Music Teacher on a long-term temporary basis from September 2026. The successful Music Teacher will be responsible for teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, supporting extracurricular opportunities where appropriate, and maintaining high standards of classroom management and achievement.

The successful Music Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Music specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)

• Experience teaching Music up to Key Stage 4 / KS4

• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Music curriculum

• Excellent classroom management skills

• The ability to assess, monitor and support student progress effectively

• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
