Graduate Academic Coach – September 2026 to July 2027 – £85–101 per day –
Location:
secondary school, Shrewsbury – Support across a core subject:
English, maths or science.
Provide targeted academic support for a student across a core subject area, depending on school need and your strongest subject. You will work on a 1:1 basis to help the student stay engaged in lessons, break work into manageable steps, build confidence, and access learning more successfully, while working closely with teaching staff to support steady academic progress.
The CandidateYou are calm, organised, and able to explain ideas clearly in a way a young person can follow. You want practical school-based experience, can stay patient in a busy secondary setting, and are interested in how focused support helps a student overcome barriers to learning and achieve more consistently.
Requirements- Degree – A 2:2 or above in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, Maths, Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Natural Sciences, or a related subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher or pursue a long‑term career supporting children and young people in education.
