Monday - Friday, 7.30am to 11.30am
(20 hours per week, term time + 5 PD Days)

Thomas Telford Primary Free School is a brand new build primary school which is part of the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust. The TTMAT has a proven track record of excellence and is at the forefront on educational developments nationally. In June 2024, our sister school, Redhill Primary Academy was awarded Ofsted's highest accolade, after being rated Outstanding in all areas of the inspection framework, stating that all pupils thrive both academically as well as personally and socially.
Our commitment is to achieve the same outcome at the new Free School.
The Caretaker plays a key role in ensuring that the school premises provide a safe, secure, clean, and welcoming environment that supports the delivery of high-quality education for all pupils. The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including site security, building maintenance, health and safety compliance, and practical support for school events and daily operations.
This is a varied and hands-on role, ideally suited to someone who is proactive, dependable, and takes pride in maintaining a safe and well-kept school environment. As the post holder gains experience and familiarity with the school’s needs, the role may evolve, offering opportunities for professional development and progression.
This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as stated in the person specification.

All successful candidates are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check with barred list (for regulated activity posts) as well as other pre-appointment checks outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2024), such as an online check, suitable references, s, and proof of qualifications (where appropriate). This post also requires checks under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations and Childcare Act 2006, which includes a criminal record self-disclosure form to be completed and returned prior to interview.
