The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in the Shrewsbury area from September 2026.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils across multiple year groups who require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support. Working closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and class teachers, you will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships, and improve engagement both inside and outside the classroom.

The school has a strong inclusive ethos and a supportive leadership team, making this an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a lasting impact on children's lives.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group behaviour support for pupils across the primary age range
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to improve confidence and engagement
Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and emotional regulation
Implement behaviour support plans and positive reinforcement strategies
Work alongside teachers to promote successful classroom participation and learning
Liaise with the SENCO, pastoral staff, parents, and external agencies where appropriate
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to behaviour and intervention reviews
Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children with behavioural, SEMH, or pastoral needs
Experience working within a primary school, alternative provision, or similar setting
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable pupils
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
