Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College (HLNSC) is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tutor to join our Adult and Community Learning Division, delivering engaging and high-quality French language learning for adult learners, from complete beginners through to conversational level.
Based initially at The Gateway Centre, Shrewsbury, you will play a key role in supporting adult learners to develop their French language skills, build confidence in speaking and listening, and use French in everyday, social and travel situations. There may be future opportunities to extend the provision to our North Shropshire campus in Oswestry.
Main Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging French lessons from beginners through to conversational level.
- Support and motivate adult learners to develop confidence and achieve their personal language-learning goals.
- Assess and monitor learner progress, adapting teaching and activities to meet individual needs.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong subject knowledge and fluency in French, with the ability to teach from beginners through to conversational level.
- Is confident teaching French language skills including speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.
- Has experience teaching French, ideally to adult learners and across a range of abilities.
- Is confident in the use of digital teaching platforms and resources, e.g. Microsoft Teams.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate adult learners.
- Is flexible, professional, and committed to high-quality teaching and learning.
- Is flexible and willing to deliver classes at the Gateway Centre and, where required, in community settings.
