Job Summary
We’re looking for a Survival Equipment Technician to join our Aviation business, based at RAF Shawbury, supporting the HADES contract and Rotary Flying Training operations. The role involves inspection, maintenance, and rectification of survival and aircrew equipment that directly supports flying operations.
Location & HoursLocation:
Shropshire, England (RAF Shawbury)
Full‑time, permanent, Monday to Friday (08:00–17:00). Flexibility may be required to support the flying programme.
Responsibilities- Carry out maintenance, inspection, and repair of Survival Equipment (SE) and Aircrew Equipment Assemblies (AEA).
- Ensure all work is completed in line with approved technical publications, standards, and procedures.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, including hazard, near‑miss, and incident reporting.
- Support quality, security, environmental, and health & safety standards across the team.
- Contribute to investigations and continuous improvement activities where required.
- Safety‑focused technician with experience maintaining survival or aircrew equipment.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, engineering publications, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- A professional approach when working in a regulated, operational setting.
- Recognised technical or engineering qualification within survival equipment or aircrew equipment maintenance.
- Selective sizing and fitting of aircrew equipment assemblies and NVG maintenance experience is desirable.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
