We are a well-established and highly regarded multi-disciplinary property and rural consultancy seeking a Planning Consultant to join our growing planning team based in Shrewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planning professional to join a busy and expanding department, working across a wide variety of planning projects throughout the Midlands. The role offers exposure to projects across the residential, commercial, leisure and agricultural sectors, alongside clear opportunities for career progression within a supportive and reputable consultancy environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, submit and manage planning applications and planning appeals
  • Deliver a broad range of planning consultancy services across residential, commercial, leisure and rural developments
  • Work closely with technical specialists, consultants and stakeholders throughout the planning process
  • Represent clients at planning committees, appeal hearings and examinations when required
  • Advise landowners and clients on planning strategy, land promotion and development opportunities
  • Support projects involving strategic land and site promotion across the Midlands
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of client service
About you
  • A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Working towards or holding RTPI membership
  • Experience preparing and managing planning applications
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisation and project management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
