Trading Standards Apprentice

Shropshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Trading Standards and Parking Enforcement team as a Trading Standards apprentice. This is an exciting career opportunity to learn what it takes to be a Trading Standards Officer whilst undertaking a professional apprenticeship aimed at creating a clear pathway into the profession.

The post holder will undertake the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship (equivalent to degree level). Post holders will be required to participate in a range of compliance and targeted related intervention work, undertake enforcement enquiries and investigations into breaches of a wide range of regulatory and consumer protection legislation and activities including tackling rogue traders, enforcing the provisions for age restricted products, the new tobacco and vapes legislation and the safety of consumer products.
