Location: Remote, with travel to sites across Shropshire (including Shrewsbury and Oswestry) and attendance at Planning Committees as required. Office Attendance: Minimum one day per month in Shrewsbury. Pay: £39.71 per hour PAYE Contract: Initial 3-month rolling contract with the potential to become permanent. Hours: 37 hours per week
## The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join a Development Management Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Town Planner to lead on a varied caseload of large, complex and major planning applications while supporting the Area Planning Manager and providing leadership to Planning Officers. You will present applications to Planning Committee, provide specialist planning advice, oversee complex planning matters and help deliver an efficient and customer-focused planning service across one of England's largest rural authorities.
## Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of large, complex and major planning applications.
- Assess planning applications and prepare detailed reports and recommendations.
- Present planning applications to Planning Committee.
- Provide specialist planning advice to Members, applicants and stakeholders.
- Support and deputise for the Area Planning Manager when required....
