Senior Planning Enforcement Officer

Location: Shrewsbury

Shropshire Council is looking for an experienced Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join the Planning Enforcement Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage planning enforcement cases and investigations

• Provide specialist planning enforcement advice

• Evaluate evidence, prepare reports, and support enforcement decisions

• Attend planning committees, hearings, public inquiries, and site meetings

• Support and guide planning enforcement colleagues

• Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to improve service delivery

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong experience in planning enforcement and development management

• Local authority planning experience preferred

• Good knowledge of planning regulations, enforcement processes, and appeals

• Excellent report writing and stakeholder management skills
