Overview
To work as a Psychologist for the Shrewsbury Central East Community Mental Health Team, travelling as required within Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, providing clinical services directly face to face and remotely. To liaise with other services as above.
Responsibilities(a) Provide a specialist Clinical Psychology service within the Shrewsbury Central East CMHT, working with clients remotely or face-to-face alone, in local NHS settings or other care environments, or at their home as necessary. Communicate highly complex information effectively in highly emotive situations and overcome psychological resistances to potentially threatening issues. Conduct psychological interviews, interpret complex data, give feedback sensitively, and be skilled in risk assessment and management.
Maintain high professional levels of clinical judgement and application of complex skills at all times.
(b) Provide expert psychological assessment and reports, both written and verbal, to referrers of people with a wide range of psychological problems, in accordance with codes of professional ethics.
Person Specification Experience- Years experience in Community Mental Health Settings for complex cases (Essential)
- Experience outside of current JD (Desirable)
- Registered with the Health Professions Council (Essential)
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology (or its equivalent) including two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology (Essential)
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice (Desirable)
- Considerable experience of working with people with complex psychological trauma and systemic working (Desirable)
