An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional to take on the role of Digital Lead Practitioner within the Women & Children’s Division at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

The post holder will provide senior clinical leadership for the implementation, optimisation and ongoing development of digital systems across maternity and neonatal services, with a key focus on the delivery of the Neo Badger Electronic Patient Record (EPR). Working closely with clinical, operational and digital teams, the role will ensure safe system configuration, effective staff engagement and training, and successful adoption of digital solutions.

The Digital Lead Practitioner will play a pivotal role in improving patient safety, clinical effectiveness and staff experience by supporting the transition from paper-based to digital pathways, enhancing data quality, and enabling more efficient and streamlined ways of working.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead digital transformation within a forward-thinking division, contributing to both local and national priorities for maternity and neonatal services.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the implementation, configuration and optimisation of the Neo Badger Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and other digital systems across maternity and neonatal services.

  • Provide senior clinical leadership for digital transformation, ensuring systems are safe, effective and aligned to clinical pathways.

  • Act as the clinical subject matter expert, supporting system design, testing, governance and ongoing development.

  • Ensure compliance with digital clinical safety standards, including risk management and assurance processes.

  • Lead stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams to drive adoption and embed digital ways of working.

  • Develop and deliver training programmes to improve staff competency and digital literacy.

  • Support the transition from paper to digital records, improving data quality and clinical decision-making.

  • Work collaboratively with IT, System C and external partners to support implementation and integration.

  • Contribute to reporting, data analysis and benefits realisation, including operational efficiencies.

  • Line manage digital and data quality staff, promoting continuous improvement.
