Payroll & HR Officer

£37,000-£47,550 Earning Range (Depending on Experience) + Monday-Friday + Permanent Position + Great benefits

This specialist manufacturer is looking for a Payroll & HR Officer to join its Telford team. The business values determination, integrity, quality and teamwork, offering a role where accuracy, organisation and an approachable manner will make a real difference.

In this role, you will manage the full payroll process, including overtime, shift premiums, statutory payments, pensions and HMRC submissions. Alongside this, you will support recruitment, onboarding, employee records and absence reporting, becoming a key contact for employee payroll and HR queries.

This role would suit someone with proven UK payroll experience who enjoys taking ownership, working with people and improving processes. Experience with in manufacturing or a shift-based environment would be beneficial.

The Role
  • Process end-to-end payroll, including variable pay, statutory payments, pensions and HMRC submissions.
  • Support HR administration, including contracts, recruitment, onboarding and employee records.
  • Produce payroll and HR reports, resolve employee queries and support audits.
  • Permanent position working 39.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
The Person
  • Proven experience processing end-to-end UK payroll, including statutory payments and RTI.
  • Sound knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pension auto-enrolment and holiday pay.
  • Confident using payroll software and Excel, with strong accuracy and organisation.
  • HR or manufacturing experience beneficial; CIPP or CIPD qualifications desirable.
