Job Description

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic person to join the E&B Systems Team. This permanent role is within our development team and focuses on supporting and delivering technical digital solutions that address business problems and drive major digital transformation. The successful candidate will have a key role in building and supporting solutions to help staff in their front‑line work, understanding how digital tools can enhance our regulatory work and contributing to the Environment Agency’s mission to protect the environment.

The E&B Systems Team is a dispersed, flexible resource working across digital and business activity areas. We provide digital product development and configuration services, offer support to Operations staff for business systems and technologies, and contribute to cross‑cutting and high‑risk projects. Our work connects the business to the IT required to deliver benefits for the environment and delivers innovative, integrated outcomes.

• Provide technical guidance on the use and configuration of tools such as Power Platform, SharePoint, DCP (Document Core Pack), Canvas Apps, and Microsoft Access.

• Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand business needs and translate them into innovative digital solutions.

• Build and sustain strong partnerships with staff and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outcomes and effectively communicate technical concepts to non‑technical clients.

• Manage your own workload effectively, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to lead on technical development areas and solutions.

• Participate in dispersed project groups, contributing to the delivery of digital IT services and operational activities.

• Digital product management experience or expertise as an environment practitioner.
• Proficiency with Power Platform, SharePoint, DCP, Canvas Apps, Microsoft Access, and application configuration.
• Strong technical skills with the ability to convey complex technical understanding to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience addressing the needs of internal and external customers and a proven ability to think innovatively to develop solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain partner relationships vital for successful project delivery.

Location is flexible. Infrequent travel may be required for some meetings in Bristol/Birmingham.
