Housekeeper – Emergency Department, The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking Housekeeper to work as an integral part of the team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment at all times.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the Emergency Department.
• Work independently under non-direct supervision and prioritize workload.
• Respond promptly to the demands of an ever‑changing workload.
• Assist patients during their stay and liaise with staff across all levels.
• Communicate with all levels of staff face‑to‑face and over the telephone.
• Take ownership of stock levels, including ordering supplies and inventory control.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment appropriately and maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Follow health and safety procedures in a demanding environment.
• Use IT tools and systems required for the role.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently under non‑direct supervision.
• Flexible and responsive to changing workload demands.
• Recent experience in cleaning duties, use of cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
• IT literate.
• Previous experience with stock control is desirable.
