We undertake work for clients in Shropshire as well as all over England and Wales. With a new Director of Planning we are looking to fill a vacant role in the team.
Role DescriptionThe Planning Applications Manager is a full-time, on‑site role based in Shrewsbury. The role involves overseeing and managing planning applications, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations. Daily tasks include reviewing development proposals, coordinating application submissions, liaising with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, and ensuring projects are delivered effectively and efficiently. The manager is also responsible for providing expert advice, conducting site assessments, managing timelines, and keeping abreast of planning policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Proven expertise in planning applications, site assessments, and compliance with planning policies and building codes.
- Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to liaise with regulatory authorities and clients professionally.
- Proficiency in data analysis, documentation, and relevant planning and development tools or software.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in a planning or development‑related role and knowledge of local or national planning processes and regulations.
- Professional accreditation or membership in relevant planning or development organizations is an advantage.
