About this job

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our well-established Urology Nurse Specialist team. This post enables us to expand our Clinical Nursing Team to develop and improve care for urological patients. The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team providing diagnosis, treatment and management of various urological conditions mainly along the prostate cancer pathway.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist nursing care for adults with urology conditions or stoma needs, supporting them in both hospital and community settings.
  • Assess patients, plan their care, and help them understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Run nurse-led clinics, offer expert advice to patients and staff, and act as a key worker to support people through their treatment journey.
  • Help lead and develop the urology service, working closely with other teams to ensure care is safe, joined-up and evidence-based.
  • Support junior staff, assist with training, and contribute to service improvement and research.
  • Work full-time (37.5 hours per week) but part-time hours may be considered; occasional weekend and evening working may be required.
Qualifications
  • Considerable post-registration nursing experience, including experience in urology.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to improving the urology patient’s experience.
  • Ability to provide advice and support to Urology patients across two hospital sites.
  • Willingness to support a multidisciplinary team and contribute to research and service improvement.
