We are seeking a warm enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sidcup starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Years specialist who is passionate about providing a nurturing stimulating and engaging start to childrens education.
The school has a strong community feel and places great emphasis on child-centred learning wellbeing and early development. Staff work collaboratively to create an environment where children feel safe confident and excited to learn. Senior leadership is supportive and committed to staff development offering ongoing training and guidance.
As a Reception Teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality EYFS provision that supports childrens academic social emotional and physical development. You will create engaging learning opportunities that encourage curiosity independence and positive learning behaviours. Working closely with teaching assistants parents and colleagues you will ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.
The school is located in Sidcup with good transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a professional well-resourced and inclusive working environment where wellbeing and development are prioritised.
Key Responsibilities- Plan deliver and assess high-quality EYFS lessons and continuous provision
- Promote early literacy numeracy phonics and communication skills
- Support childrens social emotional and physical development
- Create a safe stimulating and inclusive learning environment
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children including SEND and EAL
- Observe assess and record childrens progress accurately
- Foster independence confidence and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and EYFS colleagues
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers providing regular feedback
- Contribute to staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching in EYFS ideally Reception
- Be nurturing patient and enthusiastic
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisation
- Have a secure understanding of the EYFS framework
Be reflective adaptable and proactive - Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and child wellbeing
