Applicants must have a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate. If you do not have a current Nebraska Teaching Certificate, the Applicant Manual to obtain a Local Substitute Teaching Certificate, including requirements, instructions, and forms, is available cation.ne.gov/tcert.
The Local Substitute Teaching Certificate is valid for three years and is limited to 45 days of teaching in any school year. This certificate is valid only in the requesting school system. It requires a minimum of 60 semester credit hours of college coursework, including at least one course in professional Education and one course or narrative in Human Relations Training.
