JOB SUMMARY:
This position must be able to operate with minimal supervision, maintain the standard cost for every inventory part number; review the purchase price variance report weekly to measure purchasing performance, close out shop orders and DOP's in preparation for shipping and invoicing, post inventory, non-inventory and labor transactions daily. This individual is responsible for the collection of data for management job cost reviews and for every DOP order shipped, including the preparation of the actual vs.
budgeted cost sheet and explanation of variances. This individual is responsible for the preparation and entering journal entries relating to inventory valuation; trailing costs and prepaid expenses that are reclassed against WIP, as well as preparing balance sheet analysis with preparation of journal entries when required.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include:
- Establish standard unit costs for new parts
- Review PPV report weekly to measure and quantify purchasing performance
- Collection of cost data for job cost reviews
- Close out shop orders and DOP's for OEM shipments
- Analyze various balance sheet accounts; prepare and enter journal entries; assist in closing
- Prepare actual versus budget cost sheets for all OEM shipments with variance explanations
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years required in Inventory and Standard Cost Accounting and ERP Systems to include;
Bill of Material, Routing, Inventory processing;
General Accounting a Plus
Other
Strong analytical skills, detailed oriented and good communication skills. MS Office - Excel, Word, & Outlook.
This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
- Work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
