Job DescriptionThe Quality Process Engineer will ensure improved quality performance and enhanced customer satisfaction through management and continual improvement of the Ross Aluminum quality management system. They will provide technical expertise in quality management tools and systems, and lead internal audits and training.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise for improving existing processes with regards to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Maintain and administer the Ross Aluminum Quality Management System to ensure continued conformance with the AS9100/ISO
9001 and NADCAP standards, and any special customer requirements. - Work with internal processes to ensure capability and conformity to customer requirements and specifications.
- Lead continual improvement teams in the planning and execution of focused events and projects.
- Design and implement new methods, procedures, practices, or controls that positively impact process repeatability, efficiency, and reduce defects and scrap.
- Collaborate with process owners and functional area managers to write new procedures and work instructions, ensuring adherence to quality system documentation.
- Work closely with management in operations, sales, and other functional areas to implement necessary changes to procedures, practices, and process documentation.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality system standards.
- Experience in APQP, including development and maintenance of PPAP, Control Plans, and PFMEA.
- Six‑sigma green belt certification (minimum) with proven experience in its usage and success.
- Experience performing capability studies and measurement systems analysis (MSA).
- Effective communication at all levels, ability to drive change, and willingness to work in a team setting.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical tools, such as Minitab.
- Availability to work outside normal business hours/days, as needed.
- Ability to prepare, read, and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in personal computer operation and MS Office applications.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Physical capability to safely lift up to 40 pounds without assistance and to use slings and hoists safely.
- Maintain punctuality, attendance, confidentiality, and discretion in pursuit of company objectives.
- Manage and schedule multiple priorities and deadlines, working flexible hours and overtime as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with a certified quality management system.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe plant noise levels are occasionally loud, and temperatures inside the facility vary throughout the year.
