Job Description
Responsible for instructing scholars using the classical model of learning combined with data-driven decision-making. Will create daily lesson plans, participate in ongoing professional training sessions, meet with Administration and the Professional Development team for instructional planning based on assessment data, and work with grade level teams of teachers to collaboratively plan and may also form common unit assessments. Reports to the Principal and works closely with the Vice Principal, Deans, and the Professional Development team.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and passing scores on the Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments, or current Arizona or other state Teaching Certificate. Preference is Arizona Teaching Certificate or ability to transfer to AZ. https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./certificates
- One year of demonstrated teaching experience OR an equivalent combination of training or experience.
- AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Classical curricula and learning, or a willingness to learn the Classical model of education.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy and methodology, or willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge of AzM2 data measurement, and understanding of the Common Core Standards (Arizona College and Career Ready Standards) or willingness to learn.
- Online Instructional Improvement and Instructional Effectiveness System w/ ATI.
- Working knowledge of the Saxon Math program or willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge of the Shurley English language arts program or willingness to learn.
- Proven leadership ability promoting collaborative decision making.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to supporting classical education principles.
- Working knowledge of pedagogy, instructional methodology, and curriculum development.
- Ability to manage conflict with humility and service.
- Data-Driven Instruction knowledge or willingness to learn more.
- Ability to communicate professionally with scholars, parents, and staff, and build relationships.
- Commitment to health and safety in the learning environment.
- Ability to operate office equipment; ability to lift boxes and move materials as needed.
- Establish and enforce rules for responsible behavior and maintain order.
- Observe and evaluate scholars’ academic performance, behavior, and social development.
- Prepare materials and instructional resources based on the classical model.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs.
- Plan and conduct activities that provide opportunities to observe, question, discover, and investigate.
- Instruct using whole-class, small-group, and individualized approaches (e.g., EEI, Direct Instruction, Socratic Teaching, Cooperative Learning, Inquiry-Based Learning, Discovery Learning).
- Notify site administrator of scholars with special needs; collaborate with Special Education staff as appropriate.
- Provide ELL strategies within an integrated classroom under Principal and Administration guidance.
- Develop and follow curriculum maps; establish objectives and align with standards.
- Assign and grade work; maintain scholar data and progress records.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding progress and needs.
