Early Childhood - Lead Teacher, Shepherd's Fold

Base pay range: $15.15/hr - $15.65/hr

Summary We're looking for an experienced, compassionate, and organized Lead Teacher to design and implement engaging early childhood curricula, guide assistant teachers, and build strong parent partnerships. You'll ensure a high-quality, supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of every child, adhering to all early childhood standards and center philosophy.

Duties

• Curriculum & Instruction: Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and developmental goals.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized learning environment, managing classroom behavior positively.
• Team Leadership: Mentor, guide, and supervise assistant teachers and support staff.
• Parent Communication: Maintain open, daily communication with parents, providing progress reports and conducting conferences.
• Child Development: Conduct observations, complete evaluations, and track student progress.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and state regulations; handle incident reports.
• Center Support: Assist with material ordering, attend staff meetings, and represent the center.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED (Required).
• Knowledge of child development, teaching methods, and safety protocols.
• Communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift 35-50 lbs, stand for long periods, and get down on the floor with children.
• Must pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
• Have or obtain fingerprint clearance prior to start of work.
• Have or be able to obtain CPR/1st Aid.
• Have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
• 1+ years of experience in early childhood education (Preferred).
• Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a genuine love for children.
