The purpose of this job is to monitor student behavior and assist students during lunch. It is budgeted for an average of 2 hours per day.
Thrasher Elementary is a vibrant K–5 school nestled on 17 wooded acres in beautiful Signal Mountain, TN. As a true community school, we are fortunate to have an active PTA, strong parental involvement, and support from the Mountain Education Foundation that partners with us to enrich learning.

Responsibilities- Creates a respectful, positive, and pleasant environment in the cafeteria.
- Implements procedures and practices that result in efficient entry and exit of students in the cafeteria.
- Assists students as needed. For example, helps younger children open milk, packets of ketchup, etc.
- Assists students with special needs as appropriate.
- Uses positive strategies to redirect inappropriate student behavior.
- Follows established procedures for ensuring assigned areas are safe.
- Works collaboratively with administration, principals, secretaries, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Attends work and arrives to work on time.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- No degree required. Experience working with school‑age students preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills to deal effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Also has the ability to read and write effectively.
$15 per hour
